A Mom's Dilemma

  • Mood: raising a kid, mom, mom's dilemma

I know I am over-reacting. This is not the time to worry about something that is not happening yet but I can't help myself. I watch the news and observe high school kids here in the US and they are way wilder than the high school kids back at home. They tend to be more rebellious and very smart-mouthed. Which led to my worry about Andrea, my daughter. What will she be like when puberty hits? Will I be able to handle it? What if she gets involved in the wrong crowd? What if she won't respect me and hubby anymore and think that she's all grown-up like any other teenager here? What if she engages in premarital sex? OMG!

I know I am raising my kid the best way possible and I always tell her how much I love her and that if she just follow what we say, she would end up being succesful and she would always tell me, don't worry mommy, I won't be bad when I grow up, but still I'm scared. I make sure I instill good values in her but I'm scared that the hormones would screw up my baby's attitude.

I know this is premature worrying but it's eventually gonna come. I will just have faith that the way we raised her is good enough and I will handle whatever it is that comes our way and ofcourse pray...

Feeling Depressed

  • Mood: depression, post pastum depression

Recently I have been feeling depressed. I am always tired and not too happy. I would look out in space and just cry. Hubby noticed it and we talked about what's going on. He feels bad because he thinks it is him who has caused this and that he is not good enough to make me happy. I feel so bad for him because he is nothing but  short from being perfect. He does everything that I would ask of him and more. And for lack of close friends, I always vent out on him all my frustrations, making him feel like shi*.

I don't know why I am going crazy like this. It might just be post-partum depression or it might just be home-sickness. All I know is that I don't like being depressed and I don't like having to cause pressure on my husband.

Pardon me for venting it out here but it feels good to release some of it through this blog, instead of releasing all of it to my poor hubby. I am trying so hard to entertain myself and my kids always lifts up my spirit but there are times during the day when I just go back inside the little hole I dug.  Please if you have any advise, feel free to leave some. i would appreciate it so much. I hope it would all pass.

Life Insurance

  • Mood: life insurance, advantages of life insurance

My husband and I recognize the importance of having life insurance especially since we have 2 little girls. So we made sure that we have life insurance just incase anything happens to us. We are paying monthly to make sure that our insurance would stay active and it really gives us a sense of peace knowing that our girls will be taken cared of.

If you still don't have life insurance, right now is the right time to look for one. Believe, you will never regret getting one especially if you have a family you care for. Your family will enjoy the advantages of having life insurance in the future.

Burton Jacket For Winter

  • Mood: zappos, burton jacket

It's winter time again. I have to make sure that I take out the jackets and coats that I put aside all summer long. I have one favorite jacket that I wear every winter for 3 years now, it's a Burton jacket. My hubby bought it for me, 3 years ago and until now, it still looks like it's brand new. He bought it online at zappos.com.

We love shopping online at zappos because they have a lot of selections you could choose from and it's very affordable. Not to mention the fact that it will be delivered in your doorstep, so you don't need to drive all the way to the mall just to get what you want.

Are you all ready for winter? If not, visit zappos and check out their sweaters, jackets, boots and many other winter essentials.

Chicken Please

  • Mood: happy baby, Sicily's buffet

Yesterday, we went out to eat at Sicily's Italian Buffet. The last time I was there was before I got pregnant with Fifi. This time, Fifi was with us and even if she don't have any teeth yet, (yes at 9 months, she doesn't have any teeth or even a sign of it in her mouth) I let her nibble some of my chicken drumstick. She loved it and it was so cute because she's trying so hard to get some meat in her mouth but to no avail. So I'm sharing with you all the pictures of my greasy baby...

Oriental Pearls

  • Mood: oriental pearls, jewelries, pearls

Last year for our anniversary, hubby gave me a set that includes a pair or earrings, a bracelette and a necklace made of pearls. It is my first ever pearl jewelry since most of the time, when he gives me jewelries, it would always be gold.

Eversince then, I would always look for pearl jewelries at oriental pearls.net. I love their site because they have all kinds of pearls in different colors and sizes of pearl in oyster. Their pearls are so cheap yet high quality since they have their own pearl farm therefore eliminating the middle man. Visit http://www.orientalpearls.net/ to check out their pearls.

A pearl jewelry gives off a classic aura to the woman that wears it and someday I would give mine to my daughters as a heirloom. Do you agree with me that jewelries are good heirlooms for the family?

Raising Andrea

  • Mood: raising kids, parenting, doing time-out, discipline, disciplining kids

Raising a child is not just a walk in the park. It requires a lot and it's not just the mere provision of the child's needs. Being a parent  means raising a child to be a well-rounded, responsible individual so that someday, she will become the leader of our society.

I know for a fact how hard it is because I am a parent to two beautiful girls, Fifi and Andrea. Fifi, who is younger requires a lot of attention and tender loving care, while Andrea, who is slowly opening her eyes to the world, requires guidance and a lot of discipline.

Lately, Andrea had been doing stuff that as a parent I should correct. She lacks the  sense of responsibility, so I have to make sure that she understands it by giving her some chores to do on weekends. I believe in disciplining kids while they're young so they would know that doing something wrong has it's consequences that you have to face, so everytime she does something wrong, I would make up some kind of punishment.

I am also trying to instill in her the importance of time management, so what I did was create a daily schedule for her, so she could have a guide on what to do everyday.

I know that every parent has a different way of rasing their child, the only thing that is common in all of us, is that we only want what's best for our kids and we want them to grow up strong, so they would be able to face whatever life throws at them.

My Baby Alive

  • Mood: baby alive, cute baby, infant

Two christmases ago, one of Andrea's presents was a baby alive doll. It is called such a name because like a real baby, it eats and drinks and right after it, passes stool and pees in it's diaper. It would also cry and ask for mommy. She never really played with it that much despite some prodding because she would rather go outside and do cartwheels in the grass than play with her baby alive. So the poor baby alive was just sitting in the toy box until last year when hubby and I decided to just send it to the Philippines and give it to my niece who is dying to have a baby alive doll.

I am talking about baby alive because I myself has a baby alive. She is my little fifi. Eversince she was born, I love dressing her up like a doll. She is my real life doll. I do the same thing with Andrea when she was a baby but with fifi I am over the top. LOL

Here are some pictures of my real life doll...

Andrea's Halloween Costume

  • Mood: halloweencostume, supergirl costume, kids

Andrea is always excited when it's almost halloween. She loves the idea that she could wear costumes and ofcourse get lots of candies for free. She wants to be wonder woman this year but they ran out of her size at party city, so we have to get the supergirl costume instead.

Here is my supergirl getting into character with her poses...

She had a blast being supergirl for just a day...

More pictures of my girls last halloween HERE...
