THE CRAZY BUT VERY FULFILLING LIFE OF A MOM
School days are here and again. It was a fun summer and I had a good break but now it's time to get back to schedule of waking-up early and making sure that all the kids' homeworks are done properly. I thought that when I get married and finish school I could say goodbye to homeworks, but no that's not the case, as long as I have kids, I would still be doing homeworks and burn candles at night to help them study for tests.
I am not complaining though, for some reason it makes me proud when my kids do good because I am here to support them. All their achievements are mine too since I know that I held a helping hand to them. It is rewarding to see them receive certificates and awards at the end of the school year, perhaps more rewarding than when I used to get awards myself as a student.
This is part of my role as a mom and I am embracing it. Bring it on. I am as ready for school days as my kids

Sometimes, all it takes is a smile to make a day brighter. It's a proven thing for me since I have been in plenty of situations where things could have been worse but since all I did was smile, everything got better. I have been to plenty of interviews that I passed not just because I gave the interviewer the right answers, but it's because when I flashed a smile, I actually send out a message to them that I am confident and approachable.
A smile though, as easy as it may sound, requires a lot. A smile with a full set of teeth is way better than a smile with missing or rotting teeth. Taking care of one's teeth then is a requirement to have the perfect smile, as well as regularly visiting the Best Dentist in town. Sometimes genes could ruin a perfect smile, but nowadays we could beat that by going to the Periodontist. They are trained and experienced to fix all kinds of teeth problems.
It's always said that prevention is better than cure. So while young, let's train our kids to brush regularly and diligently. It would benefit them healthwise and it would save us money in the long run. A smile is just a smile they say, but it goes a long way especially if you do it straight from the heart.

As a child, I dreamed of one day visiting one of the Disney Parks. I never really thought that it's possible since we were poor and I could barely have stuff I need how much more a fancy vacation to see the famous park. But now I realized that dreams do come true. After years of just dreaming, I finally set foot in Disney World located at Orlando, Florida. It is a dream come true to me and to my two little girls as well. So just like Walt Disney said, "Dreams come true, we just have to keep on believing".
The picture above is a picture of my mother-in-law, my brother-in-law, and his wife. I have a good-looking family, right? The reason I posted this picture in my blog is because when I first met my husband's family a few years ago, I was shocked to see how tall and big he is. He is 6'3" tall and weighs around 250 pounds. His wife is 5'10" so they look perfect together but if I stand right next to him, which I avoid in pictures, I literally look like I am a midget.
Kids are scared of him, including mine, not because he is mean but merely because of his size. I have been keeping it to myself but I have been wondering where he finds big shoes and big and tall clothes to fit him. I figured that he goes to specialty big and tall clothing stores or sites to find something that fits.
All I know is that he looks like he has no problems in finding clothes to fit him. Everytime I see him, he is dressed to impress and all his clothes fits him perfectly. No obvious alterations or add-ons. He may look tough and discrimanating but he is just a big teddy bear just like my beloved husband.

All girls wants to be a princess. I used to dream of becoming a princess when I was a little girl but I am not lucky enough to have parents that could afford princess outfits. I grew up in a little town in the Philippines and my parents are working hard to make sure there's food in the table. Buying a princess outfit is not important enough to have a cut in the daily budget so all I would do is pretend that our blanket is my cape and I would use anything round to put up over my head as my crown. It did not ruin my imagination, or made my dream of becoming a princess less fun. I still grew up not feeling deprived of anything.
Now I have kids of my own, two girls at that. My older daughter is past the princess stage but my younger one is in the stage where in everything has to have a princess on it. Be it an outfit, a cup, a towel, and everything else. If she will have it her way, even our car would have a princess sticker on it.
Lately, we went to Disney World for a family vacation, and her face lit-up when she saw the castle in Magic Kingdom. I then dressed her up as Belle of Beauty and the Beast and just that, made her day. She is indeed my princess.

One of the greater joys in my life has been to watch my mom continue to flourish in her ‘old’ age. I put ‘old’ in quotes, because she would kill me if she ever thought I called her that! That’s right- I’m 61 years old this year, and am still afraid of my mother! She has handled her age with such dignity and grace, and at her 87th birthday last year, was still laughing with the rest of us and keeping up her end of the witty conversation. I’m so proud of her for how she has kept her health and mind sharp over the years, and it is a testament to the fact that she has always taken care of herself and been smart about her decisions. Last year, I went to HTTP://WWW.HOME-ALARM-SYSTEMS.COM to feel more at ease about her living at home alone, but she has done so well on her own that I feel like she could be her own security system! Imagine the headlines of: “87 year old woman attacks intruder with a bat!” That would be my mom for sure.
I noticed that most nurses and medical workers now are wearing medical uniform scrubs everyday. Back then, the nurses used to wear the cute skirt and blouses with their matching caps, and it looks cute but I don't think it's very comfortable especially with the long shifts.
The scrubs are more comfortable that's probably why more and more medical workers are using it everyday. My sister who is a nurse is also like to wear scrubs so I looked for discount medical scrubs online so I could send her some whenever I send some stuff there. I usually send a balikbayan box every couple of months to my family in the Philippines.
So far, I got a lot of cute discount nursing scrubs online and I purchased enough for her to wear for the entire week without breaking the bank. I'm sure she would enjoy the variety I chose and I can't wait to send them to her. Nothing beats the happiness of giving something to your loved-ones even if it's just as simple as a medical scrub.
Do you own a blog from wordpress? I used to own a blog from wordpress and I like the way the site works. It is easy to navigate and it is also full of stuff to make your blog look unique and individualized. I don't have a blog from wordpress anymore but if you are interested in having your own blog or already has a wordpress blog, I found a site that has Premium WordPress Themes available to bloggers.
I hope I found this site before but I am definitely keeping it in mind because I am thinking of starting a new blog from wordpress. The site has themes ranging from beauty to church wordpress themes, so whatever theme you want or have in your blog, it's all in the site, readily available.
Blogging is fun and it helps me reach out to everybody out there whom I don't even know or will ever meet. It is my way of releasing my feelings without being scared of being judged. It is more fun now that I could make my blog pretty and unique.

When it comes to fashion-themed TV, no one does it better than Stacy London, Clinton Kelly and TLC's What Not to Wear. The object of the show is to stage an all-inclusive fashion intervention for some poor unsuspecting soul. Friends and family members who no longer care to be caught dead with their fashion misfit write into the insanely popular show and include footage of their friend's fashion faux pas. Often the footage is so hideous that you wonder how the poor soul made it through life. The rules are simple: Hand over your gold parachute pants and hot pink tube tops in exchange for a shiny little credit card worth $5,000.00, and a trip to the fashion capital of the world: Manhattan!
On the first day of shopping you are thrown to the wolves armed with a set of "rules" that will assist you in searching for clothing that best fits your particular body type. Usually the contestant is frazzled by day's end, but on day two, Clinton and Stacy jump out from behind a clothing display and promise to help spend the rest of their money.
Once shopping is completed it's time for the rest of the makeover! WNTW broke my heart this year when they cut celebrity stylist Nick Arrojo and brought in Ted Gibson, another big name in the business who has worked his magic on the locks of such superstars as Angelina Jolie. While I miss Nick, Ted is sweet and interacts well with the contestants.
Next up is Carmindy, the make-up artist who masterfully wields her makeup brushes and brings out the beauty that was hiding under gaudy, often caked-on make-up.
What Not to Wear is a treat for me to watch on my satellite TV from expertsatellite.com after I have put my kids to bed. I only wish someone would sneak into MY closet and get me on the show!

I finally got spend another date with my hubby. We went out to watch a movie and then eat out. After eating, we window-shopped for a while and enjoyed our time together. It is a little time spent with just us, but it is one of the things that keeps our marriage strong. We get to give each other our undivided attention and we always look forward for the next date.
With regards to my earlier rattlings about being disappointed in myslef, I am feeling better now. Thanks to all my friends who gave me some advice.
